According to reports, the new PS5 essentially a PS5 Pro would use a new “semi-customized” 6 nanometer CPU from AMD instead of the 7 nanometer custom 8 core AMD Zen 2 CPU found in the current Playstation 5. This would mean a more powerful, more efficient console, though it’s unclear why these new semi-conductors would be easier to come by than the current ones. Perhaps it just makes more sense to implement the mid lifecycle upgrade sooner than later given current shortages.
Of course, along with a faster, more efficient CPU there are plenty of other things I’d like to see from a PS5 Pro, including more storage, a less extravagant and more compact design that actually fits on shelves and in entertainment centers and just a less buggy experience all around.
For a 144Hz monitor, a new image is produced approximately every 7th miliseconds. This is one of the reasons why you can see images much smoother when compared to 60Hz monitors, and only a little when compared to 120Hz monitors.
